Overview
C1100 (UNS C11000, electrolytic tough pitch) is commercially pure copper with the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any material in our catalog apart from silver-bearing grades.
It is soft and ductile, which makes it excellent for electrodes and conductors but gummy to machine.
Key Properties
Typical values from the MatWeb datasheet for Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) Copper, UNS C11000, OSO50 Temper flat products, rod, tube, shapes. Machined parts take the properties of the stock they are cut from.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Density | 8.89 g/cm³ |
| Tensile strength | 220 MPa |
| Yield strength | 69.0 MPa |
| Elongation at break | 55 % |
| Hardness | Rockwell F 40 |
| Modulus of elasticity | 115 GPa |
| Thermal conductivity | 300 W/m-K |

Typical Applications
- Busbars and electrical contacts
- EDM electrodes
- Heat spreaders and cold plates
- RF and grounding components
Machining Notes
Low machinability (about 20% of free-cutting brass) — budget longer cycle times and allow for burrs on edges. Bare copper tarnishes; plating or clear coating is common.
