Overview
C2600 is 70% copper / 30% zinc cartridge brass. It has the best cold-working ductility of the common brasses and a bright gold appearance.
It machines acceptably but is not a free-cutting grade; choose C3604 when the part is mostly turned features and cost matters.
Key Properties
Typical values from the MatWeb datasheet for Cartridge Brass, UNS C26000 (260 Brass), OS050 Temper flat products, tubing. Machined parts take the properties of the stock they are cut from.

Typical Applications
- Decorative hardware and nameplates
- Electrical terminals and springs
- Instrument parts
- Parts that will be crimped or formed
Machining Notes
About 30% machinability relative to free-cutting brass. Takes polishing, nickel and chrome plating well.
