Overview
PBC2 (JIS CAC502) is a cast phosphor/tin bronze comparable to C90700 gear bronze. Its high tin content gives excellent wear resistance and load capacity under sliding contact.
It is the traditional material for worm wheels, heavy-duty bushings and bearings running against hardened steel.
Key Properties
Typical values from the MatWeb datasheet for Tin Bronze, UNS C90700, Sand castings. Machined parts take the properties of the stock they are cut from.

Typical Applications
- Worm wheels and gears
- Heavy-duty bushings
- Bearings against hardened shafts
- Slide plates
Machining Notes
Lower machinability (about 20%) and harder on tools than leaded bronzes; plan for it on large parts.
