Overview
CAC406C (formerly BC6) is the JIS designation for the 85-5-5-5 leaded tin bronze family, supplied as continuous-cast bar for machining.
It offers the same blend of wear resistance, pressure tightness and easy machining as C83600, and is often specified on Japanese drawings.
Key Properties
Typical values from the MatWeb datasheet for Leaded Red Brass, UNS C83600, Copper Casting Alloy (Bronze SAE 40), M01 Temper, As Sand Cast. Machined parts take the properties of the stock they are cut from.

Machining Notes
Datasheet values are for sand-cast material; continuous-cast bar is typically a little stronger and more uniform.
