Overview
MJF PA12 prints water- and airtight without further treatment, with finer feature resolution and more consistent mechanical properties than SLS (49 MPa XY / 47 MPa Z).
HP's 80% powder reusability keeps batch-to-batch quality stable, and the gray-to-black finish suits visible end-use parts. Chemical resistance covers oils, greases, aliphatic hydrocarbons and alkalis.
Key Properties
Typical datasheet values; printed parts are anisotropic and XY-direction values are shown unless noted.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile strength | 49 ± 4 MPa (XY) / 47 ± 4 MPa (Z) |
| Tensile modulus | 1900 ± 200 MPa |
| Elongation at break | 12 ± 4 % (XY) / 9 ± 4 % (Z) |
| Sintered density | 1.01 g/cm³ |
| HDT @ 0.46 MPa | 175 °C |
| Melting point | 187 °C |
Typical Applications
- Complex assemblies, housings and connectors
- Watertight functional parts
- Lattice structures
- Snap fits and hinges
Printing & Handling Notes
The least anisotropic powder-bed nylon — a safe default for end-use production parts.
